MEET THE CHEF
CHEF TROY BARRETT
The Lord & Barrett Sausage Co. started out as a dare from my co-worker, Joe Childers. One day he said to me, “‘since you think you can cook, make some sausage out of this deer leg.” Then he threw a frozen deer leg onto the table. That was in 2006. I took the challenge and here I am on Great Day Houston for the fourth time.
The name of the company came from me not having the gift of making sausage so I credit the Lord Jesus for giving me the gift and what a better way to honor him than to make him my partner. I honor Jesus in everything I do! My faith is a big part of me, it is most of me.
Since starting making sausage in 2006 my company has grown to Catering, BBQ, a Deli, a seasoning brand (coming soon).
I was born and raised in Dayton, Texas. I am in the Dayton Sports Hall of Fame. All District in Football, All District in Track and went to State in the 110 hurdles. I have Louisiana Creole roots on my Father’s side of the family. I founded and own The Crosby Zydeco Festival Brand. It was rated #2 in the nation. I am a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, Humble, Texas. I am blessed to be a Father to five fabulous children.
